New Book by Ben Pronk
we’re
all
going
to
die.
Practical happiness for the time you have left.
Sounds a bit morbid, right? But once you accept the one thing we all share, everything else gets a lot clearer.

“You, me and everyone else who has ever lived, or will ever live, is going to die.
So let’s get on with living.”
Ben Pronk, We’re All Going to Die
The verdict
“Brutally honest, surprisingly warm, and impossible to put down. This is the happiness book I wish I’d read ten years ago.”
“Ben doesn’t do self-help fluff. He does real talk with real heart. Our team walked away from his keynote with a completely different relationship to stress.”
“I rolled my eyes at the title. Then I read the first chapter and cancelled my afternoon. A masterclass in saying something true.”

Hi,
I’m Ben.
I spent 24 years in the Australian Army — most of it in the SAS, finishing as Commanding Officer. I’ve worked in Timor Leste, Iraq and Afghanistan, was awarded a Distinguished Service Cross for leadership in combat, and have since co-founded Mettle Global and joined the faculty of Australia’s top-ranked MBA program.
But even with all of that, I still get sad sometimes. I still want things I know won’t make me happy. So I went deep on the subject — reading everyone from ancient philosophers to modern neuroscientists — and worked out that real, practical happiness starts with accepting the one thing we all share.
